Evaluation
I had a major role in the group. I was the only one in the group who was here every day and was therefore able to assist in most of the work that was needed (apart from the script, which was done by Toni and the storyboards done by Sam and Joseph). In terms of my actual 'role' within the film making process, I was one of the actors within the film as I had a costume that fit the film well and I didn't feel comfortable letting anyone else wear it, therefore making me an actor. I feel I did alright, but I could have been a bit ‘scarier’. However, I did very well at the falling over portions of the film, which had to seem authentic to be funny. When it came to the editing process, I didn't do much (Toni and Sam had more of a leading role in the editing) but I did assist with some general editing, like cutting clips and the credits. In the pre-production, I did a lot of the work along with the other members in my group, and did the more boring writing tasks, as I could do them quickly.
Our final film was, in my opinion, lacklustre. Some of the shooting was mediocre and we only ended up with 1-2 jokes. Therefore, our film ended up being a sometimes-funny film about a killer failing to kill someone. The continuity was good, with no continuity errors that I can think of (apart from my position in the wii sports joke). The editing process went decently, although Toni was missing for a while, leaving us without one person. The film was edited well, with a great “Spare” asset. If any part of the editing process went particularly badly, it was the credits which were terrible compared to the title (this was due to Toni not being here to create them like he created the title). The filming process went well enough but could have been better. Toni was missing frequently leaving us without one of our actors, resulting in lots of improvisation for the film. Furthermore, we interchanged cameramen occasionally depending on who was available. Also, some of the shots we filmed weren't great (such as me under the table).
When comparing the final product to our original idea, there are many differences that were created due to time constraints and lack of personnel, where we had to improvise to work around the issues. Several jokes ended up not being filmed (such as the snack break and the E-boy dialogue), many shots were different in the final product (like some running shots and the shot of the tables) and some jokes were added in randomly (mainly the wii sports joke). Some portions of the story-boards were still filmed such as the beginning with Toni reading the book and me under the desk. All in all, our film ended up different to our storyboards mostly due to time constraints.
